THE BIG PROBLEM
Did you know that Styrofoam is 100% recyclable?
Yet up to 80% of Styrofoam is ending up in Landfill. On average, this results in approx. 6900 m3/ year of styrofoam ending up in LGA landfill – not only does this have considerable cost on our natural resources but it is also affecting company profits.
Styrofoam is bulky in nature and has historically been problematic to dispose of, and can make a hell of a mess if being broken down.
So what’s the big problem? The problem is carrying the stuff. Did you know you can only fit about 300kg of Styrofoam on a semi trailer? Yep, and it costs at least $300 to move a semi trailer anywhere. Similar number for smaller trucks. That is why Styrofoam/EPS had found itself as a problem waste. You just can’t carry it cost effectively. Foam Muncher is a genius. He doesn’t make you bring the foam to him, he comes to the foam for munching. I suppose he could be nick-named Mohammed! It is better to bring Mohammed to the mountain (of EPS) rather than bring the mountain to Mohammed!

CASE STUDY - KING LIVING
King Living, Australia’s premium furniture company, have a commitment to minimise their products impact on the environment at every stage in their business. With their white glove delivery and installation service, King Living help their customers by taking back the packaging their furniture is delivered in, ensuring it is properly recycled.
Foam Muncher helps King Living ensure that all of the polystyrene packaging used to protect the valuable products during transport and delivery is ethically recycled and the material reused in upcycled, durable products. Without this service, King Living customers would be left with their packaging to manage the disposal. There are few recycling options available to the public, so the polystyrene would undoubtedly end up in landfill for the most part.
Thanks to their commitment to their customers and the environment, King Living are able to close the loop on their polystyrene packaging for the benefit of their customers and the whole planet, with the help of Foam Muncher.
